I made my first original iPad stand for my own use when
I am sitting at a table or desk. I found that the dozens of commercially
available stands and covers were too complex and mostly a hassle for how I
use my device. I also wanted something made of wood (naturally) for a
contrast to one of the most hi-tech devices on the planet. I started
playing with some simple prototypes until I got the angle and size
correct. The angle I settled on allows you type landscape or portrait with
the onboard device keyboard easily and also works perfectly with any
bluetooth wireless keyboard. The stand is currently available in solid
American Black Walnut and Natural Birch sized @ 5" w x 3/4" x 7 1/8". As
simple as this stand is it is a complex set of processes that
transform (see bottom of page for description) what looks to be a simple block of wood into this hand made
product.
